Serra Cafema Camp is among the remotest destinations in all of Africa, situated in Namibia. Shored on the elevated banks of Kunene River, Serra Cafema offers a rare cultural interaction with the colorful desert Himba people, one of the last authentic nomadic tribespeople in Africa. Serra Cafema has nine villas with private decks, all overlooking the Kunene River. The Ozonganda (main area in Herero) offers beautiful views over the croc and bird rich Kunene River.

The most remote desert region in Namibia, few travelers ever get to experience this area. The breathtaking landscape is home to Springbok, Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, Ostrich and Oryx. Serra Cafema offers exhilarating, carefully guided quad-bike excursions (arguably the best desert safari in Namibia). The Kunene River is home to a large population of Nile crocodiles. Notable bird species are Burchell’s Courser and Benguela Long-billed Lark. For the OvaHimba, hairstyle & jewelry symbolize age & social status; Each family has its own Sacred Ancestral Fire, kept by the Fire-Keeper.
